Anti Tobacco Day 2011
A debate to bring harmful effects of tobacco to the fore was organised in the school followed by a rally in the local market raising anti tobacco slogans. Principal Smt. Sushila Guleria presided over the debate and flagged off the rally. In her speech she also emphasized on the dreadful effects of intake of tobacco in any form and inspired students to keep themselves and their surroundings miles away from the tobacco products. Extension of admission schedule for 10+1, 10+2 classes
The last date of admissions for 10+1 and 10+2 classes is extended up to 31st May 2011 with late fee of Rs.10/-. All the students who have yet not taken admission under Roll-on system may take admissions as per this schedule. After this date no extension will be given.

About Joginder Nagar
Joginder Nagar, the town in which Govt. Girls Senior Secondary School, Joginder Nagar is established, also bears the name “Electric Town” as it is having 3 Hydro-Electric Power Projects namely Shanan (110 MW), Bassi (60 MW) & Uhl Stage III (100 MW under construction) in it. Shanan power house was built under the guidance of Colonel B.C. Batty, a British, during 1925 to 1932. A nagar panchayat in Mandi district, Joginder Nagar also have the privilege of being the terminal point of the narrow gauge railway track from Pathankot. The railway track built basically to cater to the needs of construction of Shanan hydro-electric power project is nothing less than a heritage today.
Joginder Nagar was named after Raja Joginder Sen, the King of Mandi while the name of the original village was Sukrahatti.
